Privacy Policy

Overview

Voxera is a macOS voice dictation app. It captures microphone audio only when you start a dictation session and uses that audio to provide transcription and related writing features.

We do not sell personal data, and the App Store build does not include advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.

Information We Process

• Audio data: voice audio you intentionally record during a dictation session.
• User content: transcript text, custom vocabulary, profile text, and writing context used for dictation, polishing, or translation features.
• Optional input context: when Input Context is enabled, Voxera may read selected or focused text, limited visible window text, the window title, and a sanitized page URL to improve the requested rewrite. The current public preview includes this setting; review it before dictating sensitive content. New builds default it off and block known secure fields and sensitive apps.
• Identifiers: device or license identifiers used for app functionality, voice service configuration, fraud prevention, and support.
• Diagnostics: app state and logs that you choose to export for troubleshooting.
• Performance diagnostics: when you opt in, latency, fallback, insertion strategy, target app name or bundle ID, app version, a license identifier, and a coarse error category used to improve reliability. Performance diagnostics do not include audio or dictated text.

How We Use Information

• To transcribe speech into text and insert the result into your selected text field.
• To provide writing modes such as Dictate, Polish, and Translate.
• To configure voice services and maintain product reliability.
• To measure aggregate latency, failure rate, fallback rate, and insertion success across supported apps.
• To respond to support requests and investigate user-reported issues.

Local Storage

Voxera may store local preferences, shortcut settings, permission state, vocabulary, and optional dictation history on your Mac under your macOS user account. Managed cloud credentials are runtime-only in new builds and are not written to the preferences file. To remove local data, quit Voxera and delete its app data from ~/Library/Application Support/Voxera.

Diagnostics

Optional performance diagnostics are off by default. They are pseudonymous, not anonymous, because they contain a license identifier and may contain the target app name or bundle ID. The server converts free-form errors to coarse categories and retains diagnostic events for up to 30 days. You can keep diagnostics off in Settings or contact us to request deletion associated with your license identifier.

Third-Party Services

Voxera uses Alibaba Cloud Model Studio (DashScope) for online speech recognition and text processing. When you invoke those features, audio, transcript text, and any enabled input context are sent to that service. Voxera also uses cloud hosting for the website, licensing, payment callbacks, and optional diagnostics. Do not dictate secrets or sensitive personal data unless you are comfortable sending it to the configured online service.

Deletion and Retention

Local data remains until you delete it. Optional performance diagnostics are retained for up to 30 days. Order and license records are retained as needed to provide paid access and handle payment or support issues. To request deletion or ask which records are linked to your license identifier, email us; payment or legally required transaction records may need to be retained.
